Raglan Rampage

Location

Starts and finishes in Raglan, Coastal Waikato.

Sign-on and briefing from 18:00 on Friday 9 October at the Raglan Harbour View Hotel.

The ride

GPS-navigated adventure ride of approximately 400 km through Coastal Waikato.

Route uses similar areas to the previous year with a slightly different course including new tracks on private land.

Terrain is about 10% sealed, 60% unsealed, and 30% off-road tracked route. Includes private farmland and forestry roads and tracks.

Depending on weather, some sections may require good off-road skills, including steeper inclines and declines, slippery or muddy terrain, and stream crossings.

Optional challenge sections are available for skilled off-road riders on smaller enduro-style bikes. Shortcuts are available if necessary.

Longest distance between fuel stops is 210 km. An extra 60 km can be added at the end of the day.

Requirements

• Suitable for road-legal dual-purpose adventure motorcycles
• Smaller enduro adventure bikes are an advantage
• Knobbly tyres are compulsory
• Challenge sections are for competent off-road riders on enduro-type bikes only
• At least one rider in each group should be competent using GPS navigation

• Registration fee: $175 per rider
• Includes Friday night registration and briefing in Raglan
