Waikato Warrior

Location

Starts and finishes in Te Awamutu, with Friday night registration and briefing at Redoubt Bar & Eatery, 423 Alexandra St, Te Awamutu.

The ride

GPS-navigated adventure ride of over 500 km in one day through the Southern Waikato region.

Includes private farmland and forestry roads and tracks, with back roads linking sections. Described as similar to a trail ride over private land.

Riders travel through scenic areas with trails on private farms and forestry land. Depending on the weather, some sections may require a moderate level of off-road skill, including short steep inclines and declines, slippery or muddy terrain, and stream crossings.

Shortcuts will be available for riders who want to finish earlier.

Requirements

• Suitable for all road legal dual-purpose adventure motorcycles fitted with new to near new knobbly tyres.
• At least one rider in each group should be competent using GPS navigation.
• All riders must sign on and attend the pre-ride briefing at 20:00 on Friday.

Schedule

Registration is on Friday 12th March from 18:00, with briefing at 20:00.

Riding starts early Saturday morning. Riders may meet back at the bar late afternoon or early evening after the ride.
